EKTA

Why did you pursue event planning and coordination?

The biggest and most heartfelt reason is that I had an intimate civil wedding abroad where I had a wedding coordinator and I kid you not, it genuinely was one of the best days of my life! I was relaxed, looked after and in total awe of how perfectly seamless the day went! The feeling of being able to trust someone to guide me, my husband to be and our family on such a special day was important to me as I just wanted my family to enjoy the beach, the sunset and our ceremony.

On the contrary, I had a Hindu wedding and reception in the UK without a wedding coordinator. To be honest the thought had not even crossed my mind and looking back it is a regret I have. It was a beautiful and a very personal day but we sure would have loved to not be so stressed during the lead up to our wedding week (we also had another family wedding days before our wedding) or being stressed about details on the day. I have learnt so much from both my weddings and have a real passion in making sure couples truly have the best day of their lives!

Why do you love events/wedding planning?

All couples are different and I have loved meeting all of them, they each have brought their personalities to their big day, whether it’s unique decor, favours, themes or speeches that truly touch my heart! I have learnt so much and I always look forward to each event! The most memorable wedding memory is my final 2024 couple, who had a winter themed wedding! We are talking mulled wine and hot chocolate stations, firepit, smores station, unreal decor which incorporated pastels, eucalyptus, pine cones and dark brown wooden mandap! Oh and a live jalebi station! This couple really put so much thought into their big day and everything had a special meaning/connection to their love story!

What do you bring to the team?

Not only do I bring 10 years of experience in events through my corporate job but also my passion for weddings! I treat every booking with compassion, excitement and upmost care. I communicate well and understand needs very well and am mindful of things that matter the most. I am a team player, incredibly hardworking and pretty cool human to be around!

When you’re not coordinating or planning, what are you most likely doing?

Family and friends are super important to me and I value them so highly, so I like to prioritise my time ensuring I make an effort to catch up or meet up with them as I lead a super busy work life! As I am a lover of music I also spend my time going to concerts as well  as travelling!
